Investing in land

The shortage of land in the UK provides a unique opportunity for any investor.

The current housing shortage has initiated a rethink of certain planning laws, which are currently being reviewed and reformed by the Government.

If planning permission is granted, the value of land can increase from 6 to 10 times its original value. If a piece of land has been included in the local authority’s plans for development in the future, this can also result in a hugely significant overnight rise in the value of the  land.

Between 2001 and 2004 over 37,436 acres of land in England was changed to residential use of which 31% was from Agricultural land.
